3rd Place Winner of Startup Weekend Waterloo 2014.

Glidr was the third place winner of Startup Weekend Waterloo 2014. The app concept, minimum viable products, business model were pitched in less than 48 hours in front of a panel of judges, including the mayor of Waterloo. I primarily focused on validating the concept with local businesses and potential customers. The virality of the idea grew from an initial 60 survey participants to over 300 overnight.

#Growthathon

1st Place Winner of the Growthathon Growth Hacking Challenge

Nspire's Discovery Series Waterloo & Laurier and PRISMRESOURCES hosted a competition where participants can learn how to apply high-impact marketing techniques and "GROWTH HACK" a REAL emerging start-up. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a WEEK-long challenge and use the skills gained from the #Growthathon Workshops in order to win GUARANTEED interviews for a Full-Time PAID Summer Internship with a start-up.

As a leader in a team of 5, I focused on managing tasks between the team to ensure we would be able to reach our target goals and deadline for the competition. The start-up to growth hack was SparkGig. We produced two videos and utilized social media as our method to reach potential users of the platform.

Just two university students and self-proclaimed foodies armed with nothing but cellphone cameras (what you see is what you get!) and a passion for good eats. We like to avoid chain restaurants and know how to appreciate a greasy spoon diner. We will more than willingly go out of our way to try a new restaurant and yes, we're one of those people who show up to a popular restaurant 30 minutes before they open.. just to ensure a seat. We decided to try our hand at a food blog. We're no where near close to being food critics, but we love food and hopefully we can tell you the good, the bad and the ugly of restaurants and recipes. Here are our adventures with food, both in and out of the kitchen!

I focus on content creation for our blog and Yelp. In addition, I manage the logo design and layout of the blog. I speak directly with restauranteurs for blogging opportunities.

Han Ba Tang is the spot to go if you are looking for a night of Korean fusion tapas dishes and amazing drinks in the North York area. We came up with a social media strategy that consisted of content creation, Instagram community management, Yelp community management, and influencer outreach.

Successes

Ranked #1 on the front page of Urbanspoon (now Zomato) for the top trending restaurant

813 organic ​followers on Instagram and counting

Over 1,700 external posts uploaded to the hashtag, #hanbatang

Due to the popularity and success of Han Ba Tang, they are in the works of opening two more restaurants in the beginning of 2016

TO Food Fest is an annual summer food festival that showcases local and hidden foodie finds in the city. In prior years, they had a reach of around 2K ­ we were brought on to increase exposure to the event. During our 6 months with TO Food Fest, we developed an effective marketing plan which consisted of a social media content & ad strategy, print advertising campaign, influencer outreach and content creation.

Successes

Confirmed 37K attending to the 2015 event

Optimized Facebook ads to grow page likes by 33%, from 7,800 likes to 10,400 likes

Garnered TO Food Fest 2015 event page a total of: 2.2M reach, 166K viewed, 45K engaged
